Fort Worth Housing Solutions, in partnership with the City of Fort Worth, will host a virtual public meeting on Wednesday, August 31 to review proposed historic preservation ideas for Butler Place, a former public housing community east of downtown.

The virtual meeting will take place via Zoom from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Built in 1939, Butler Place is now vacant after all of its residents moved to new apartments in the city through HUD’s Rental Assistance Demonstration Program.

Fort Worth Housing Solutions sought community input and established a Butler Advisory Committee make recommendations on the redevelopment of the site. The historical preservation of the site is an aspect to be considered.
