The Paris Historical Preservation Commission and the Main Street program will host the “Imagine the Possibilities” tour in the city center

In an effort to continue to promote the Historic District opportunities, the Paris Historical Preservation Commission and Main Street Program organize a tour of downtown properties.

This tour will showcase vacant or underutilized properties that are for sale or rent, and properties that are currently in development. The idea of ​​the tour is to involve potential investors, entrepreneurs, developers, residents and anyone else who imagines running a business, owning a building or living downtown.

The tour will also showcase properties currently under renovation, properties completed in recent years and introduce new business owners who have recently started the process of opening a business in downtown Paris.

All the properties presented are listed on the site Each property will be open and accessible to the public and an owner or representative will be on hand to answer questions. An event has been created on the Downtown Paris, Texas Facebook page that will feature photos of the properties that will be featured.

Tour participants will find maps to begin their tours at the central departure point on the east side of JJ Culbertson Fountain Plaza, located in downtown Paris, Texas.

A statewide web application,, developed by the Texas Historical Commission, will connect potential investors with development opportunities in historic downtown Texas. The Paris event is one in a series of similar tours run across the state throughout the year.

CONTEXT: is an online building inventory for downtown Texas featuring historic property listings. The concept was born in 2015 by the Town Square Initiative, a subsidiary of the Texas Main Street Program, which focuses on the challenge of vacant and underused historic properties.

The website was officially launched by the Texas Historical Commission on May 1, 2017 as part of Preservation Month with Paris among the 60 participating cities. Paris was part of the site’s initial launch.

Refreshments will be served and participants will be able to obtain additional information on the development of the city center and the commercial resources offered by the City of Paris.
