The Somerville Community Preservation Committee will hold a public hearing

The Somerville Community Preservation Committee will hold its annual public hearing on the Community Preservation Plan at 7 p.m. on April 28.

The Community Preservation Plan sets out how $2 million of the Community Preservation Act funds for fiscal year 2022 will be distributed among affordable housing, historic resources, and open space categories. The draft plan is available at http://somervillema.gov/CPA.

Immediately prior to the hearing, at 6:30 p.m., the committee will host a workshop for individuals and organizations who wish to learn more about how to apply for CPA funds. The workshop will cover the process for applying for PCA funds for a project on municipal land, restrictions for open space and historic resource projects, and the feasibility study support program for certain proposed projects.

The workshop and hearing will be held virtually. Visit http://somervillema.gov/CPA or call 311 to find out how to register. Written comments on the Community Preservation Plan can also be emailed to Judith Tumusiime, Community Preservation Act Officer, at [email protected] by May 14.
